Appearance
Competitor archive
Audience: Event organisers managing a persistent database of competitors and SI cards across events.
Manager can maintain a cross-event archive of competitors and clubs so the same people are recognised from one event to the next — including their SI card numbers, club memberships, and class preferences.
Status: Stub — not yet written. The current implementation is Eventor-dependent and partially hidden; the UI is planned to be expanded and made directly viewable/editable. This page should describe both the current state and the planned direction.
What this page will cover
Current functionality
- [ ] What the competitor archive is — a persistent record of competitors and clubs that spans events
- [ ] Where it lives (separate from any single event's competitor list)
- [ ] How it's populated today: Refresh Competitors and Refresh Clubs buttons in Eventor settings
- [ ] What gets stored: name, SI card number, club, class history
- [ ] How the archive is used during import — matching incoming entries to known competitors
- [ ] Limitations of the current Eventor-dependent approach
Planned functionality
- [ ] Browsing and searching the archive directly in Manager
- [ ] Editing archive entries by hand (correcting an SI card number, merging duplicates)
- [ ] Building the archive from events without Eventor (learn from each event's competitor list)
- [ ] Using the archive to speed up on-the-day registration (look up by card number)
